Rock Group KISS Joins the World Golf Hall of Fame

After being snubbed for several years by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, KISS announced today that they will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in a special ceremony in January. The PGA Tour's biggest KISS fan, Shaun Micheel will be the master of ceremonies. World Golf Hall of Fame spokeswoman, Heather Delay, said, as part of the World Golf Foundation, they are always looking for ways to promote the game around the world, and to demographics not traditionally associated with the game of golf. Delay said, "To be honest, our induction ceremonies are very dull, and not well attended, even though they are free and open to the public. We think the induction of KISS will change that, and give them the recognition they long deserve. It's a win-win for both of us."

Asked whether he plays golf, KISS's founder Gene Simmons said, "I don't play golf, but I do make money, and that's what this is all about. Nobody in the band plays either, but many of our fans do. They'll be happy that we are in a hall of fame somewhere, and they'll visit our exhibit here at the World Golf Village." Unnamed sources in the PGA Tour say Simmons will be co-designing a KISS themed TPC course with Pete Dye in Ponte Vedra.
